DataMax Registrars Limited (formerly GTB Registrars Limited) was incorporated as a limited liability company, and wholly-owned subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank plc, on February 7 2006, with an authorized capital of N50 million. The Company obtained a certificate of registration from the Securities and Exchange Commission to operate as a Registrar on June 22 2006, and commenced business operations on September 1 of the same year.

Pursuant to the regulation of the Central Bank of Nigeria for banks to restructure their businesses, Guaranty Trust Bank plc (the erstwhile holding company) divested its shareholding in GTB Registrars Limited.

Consequent upon the divestment, the Company changed its name from GTB Registrars Limited to DataMax Registrars Limited.

Our new name DataMax underscores our expertise as a leading provider of data administration services and is a reflection of our core values-professionalism, service, integrity and innovation which inspired us as a former subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank plc, this we will continue to imbibe as we evolve and grow.

The Company’s principal business is the provision of securities registration and data administration services to its clients. This includes maintaining shareholders’ registers relating to stocks, funds, shares and other securities, as well as management of corporate tasks.
